Could vendor selection be a touch less emotional and a bit more data-driven

Could vendor selection be a touch less emotional and a bit more data-driven?
Finding the best vendor isn't always about the cheapest. A balance between budget, value, and cultural fit is paramount.
But we must ponder: Could vendor selection be less emotional and more data-driven?
Before I started Clin.AI, I interviewed several Clin Ops leaders. A few factors seemed to carry significant weight in vendor selection decisions:
Well-established existing working relationship.
Word of mouth.
Past experience.
Don't these methods seem to lean heavily on subjectivity?
Is it time we gave more weight to measurable elements?
What if we:
Compared vendors 1:1 (not just budgets but quality, commitment, ability to collaborate, share risk, etc).
Captured the quality of RFI responses quantitatively.
Negotiated better.
Selected vendors through a documented democratic process involving key stakeholders.
I would argue these insights could indeed aid in selecting the right vendors.
… which is why I built Clin.AI (https://www.clin.ai/)
Does that resonate with you? What are your thoughts?
